The Internal Audit of Physical Security was conducted in 2010 to assess whether appropriate physical safeguards are in place at Natural Resources Canada facilities to provide for the safety and security of employees, and for the safeguarding of sensitive information and assets.
Although no major findings were identified in the report the department is taking action to address the audit recommendations.
However, pursuant to section 16 (2) (c) of the Access to Information Act, results of the audit will not be published.
NRCan has diligently considered the need for openness, accountability, and transparency.
In doing so, NRCan has thoroughly weighed the public interest for disclosure against the need to ensure the safety and security of employees and national interests in making its decision./
