Groundwater knowledge synthesis

This project will produce a book to be published as a synthesis of the current knowledge of the groundwater resources in Canada. This book is based on data, information and analysis of projects developed under this program, and with a strong input from the program's main partners and stakeholders, the provincial governments and universities.

The purpose of the book is to provide a science-based overview and a collective understanding of the groundwater resources in Canada to support sustainable use and protection. The book is intended to the following audience:

  1. Interested public;
  2. Decision makers; and
  3. Science and professional communities.

The scope of the book will be to summarize the state of knowledge on groundwater resources at the regional scale, and gaps.

This synthesis of knowledge will be completed and published during the third year of this phase (2011). More information on the book will be posted here in the coming months, you are invited to visit this site regularly.
