  • Collaboration for the advancement of models for diamond potential through mapping of the mantle over northern Canada and parts the United States
  • Research the evolution of sedimentary basins straddling Canada-Alaska border as well as development of sedimentary basins in Eastern Arctic to identify the petroleum potential

Natural Hazards

  • Collaboration in the field of seismology with the USArray Advisory Committee
  • Collaboration on volcano, seismic and tsunami hazards, including participation in advisory councils, coordination groups, and committees, including the Seismological Society of America (SSA)
  • Joint reseach with University of Texas and the United States Geological Survey (USGS) on the response of soils to seismic waves and research related to infrastructure vulnerability
  • Collaboration on seafloor observatories, tsunami warning system, and absolute gravity observations, natural hazard risk and impact assessment, stratigraphy, global navigation satellite systems
  • Collaboration with US government agencies (the USGS and NOAA) on common border issues relating to natural hazards

  • Collaboration with the Coordinating Committee on Great Lakes Basic Hydraulic and Hydrologic Data
  • Collaboration with the USGS to merge Canadian and American hydrographic networks to facilitate the development of cross boarder applications
  • Joint assessments of transboundary aquifers in the Prairie Provinces of Canada to increase capacity for techniques development and advancements in transboundary aquifers mapping
