CURRENT S&T / RESEARCH – Contributing to Natural Resources Canada’s mandate to ensure the sustainable management of ecosystem and groundwater resources under changing climatic conditions.

  • Developing land surface models for the assessment of climate change impacts on terrestrial ecosystems and groundwater resources.
  • Ensemble assimilation of remote sensing and in situ geo-spatial data in the modeling of ecosystem radiation, energy, carbon, water, and nutrient cycles.
  • Surface water and groundwater interactions and groundwater sustainability under changing climate and land use.
  • Quantification of the current states of productivity of Canada’s key ecosystems and how they have changed over the recent past. Predict future climate change impacts on ecosystem water, carbon, and energy dynamics.
