Sedimentary rock units catalogue

A catalogue of names of all sedimentary rock units in
Canada is maintained by the Paleontology Subdivision of the
Geological Survey of Canada, Calgary.

Publishing any new stratigraphic names?

Earth scientists publishing new names for groups, formations,
or members  of sedimentary rocks in Canada are requested
to submit their proposed name for entry to the list. The name
will be checked to make sure it hasn't already been used, and
if it hasn't, it will be reserved to protect it from duplication
by other authors. The list serves as a major tool in the
compilation of lexicons of Canadian stratigraphic names.
