Canada’s Agriculture
Canada hosts a wide range of agricultural activities, particularly in the Prairie Provinces. Changes in climate will continue to challenge Canada’s agriculture sector as risks such as drought and poor growing seasons are magnified by temperature extremes and water availability. Natural Resources Canada’s expertise in Earth observation and geomatics can be used to help partners in other governmental departments and provinces to assess climate-driven threats to agriculture, to explore adaptation options, and to take advantage of the opportunities associated with climate change.
