List of tools available or in development for our clients in support to height modernization in Canada.

  1. Help/Support – This is probably the most important tool that we can offer you.  Already, our web site contains general information about different topics with respect to the Height Modernization project in Canada and give you access to our data and software.  We invite you to visit it regularly.  Furthermore, we invite you to contact our office or your provincial agency directly to familiarize yourself better with Height Modernization in Canada. Your provincial agency may be able to organize workshops and forums to inform you further about Height Modernization in Canada.
  2. GPS-H - This program allows GPS users to transform NAD83/ITRF ellipsoidal heights to normal orthometric heights compatible to CGVD28 (height above mean sea level) by using a Height Transformation (e.g., HTv2.0) or to orthometric heights by using a geoid model (e.g., CGG05).  A new version of GPS-H will be available in March 2011.
  3. National Height Conversion (NHC) - This program will allows the conversion of normal orthometric heights compatible to CGVD28 to orthometric heights compatible to the up-coming Canadian vertical datum.  It will also allow the reverse conversion.
  4. GPS - The illustration below summarized different GPS techniques currently available and their achievable accuracy from tens of metres down to the sub-centimetre.
