Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is responsible for the acquisition, management and dissemination of digital topographic information to promote Canada's sustainable use of natural resources, environmental protection, economic development opportunities, as well as political, security and sovereignty issues.
In addition, NRCan is the custodian of the geospatial database which is used to create digital topographic vector data, topographic maps and other products in formats and scales for various uses.
