Canada's natural resources have been made easier to find thanks to geological field mapping, which originated with the first major geological survey of Canada in 1843.

Some uranium deposits have been discovered by tracing uranium-rich till boulders like this back to their source. McArthur River is the world's largest, high-grade uranium mine.
