Licensing & Permitting
Scientists working in the Arctic are required to have a territorial scientific research licence. It is the responsibility of the researchers to ensure that they have all the necessary licences and permits. The documentation required will vary depending on the type of work you are conducting. The following agencies are responsible for issuing scientific research licences; they can advise you as to what documentation is required and can assist you in obtaining it. Note that the licensing process can be lengthy and you should apply at least three months before you plan to go into the field. PCSP can not put any field parties into the field if we have not received a copy of all pertinent information.
