2007–2008 Call for Proposals
Understanding Adaptation and Adaptive Capacity

The Earth Sciences Sector's Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Division delivers the Government of Canada's Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation Program (CCIAP). One of the Program's activities includes funding research to improve knowledge of the risks and opportunities presented by climate change. CCIAP has invested more than $50 million in initiatives to help Canadians adapt to the impacts of a changing climate since 1998.

On March 19, 2007, the CCIAP released its 2007–2008 Call for Proposals on understanding adaptation to climate change in Canada. 171 proposals were received. These proposals were submitted from all parts of Canada. Proposals were submitted by all levels of government, universities, research and non-governmental organizations, and the private sector.

Twenty proposals were recommended for funding (see list of approved projects below). Each project is designed to engage relevant stakeholders and create user-ready deliverables that can inform decision-making. We thank all those who have applied to the research program.

Project results and reports will be available in the summer of 2008.
