Fuel Focus Report
November 20, 2009
For the week ending November 17, 2009, Canadian average retail gasoline prices decreased by 1 cent per litre to 99.8 cents per litre-a four-week low. Compared to a year ago, the average price is 14 cents per litre higher. Prices for the period one year ago were particularly low, due to the U.S. mortgage subprime crisis and the subsequent recessionary period, which pushed demand for crude oil and petroleum products down, in turn pushing down gasoline prices significantly in November 2008.
