In Canada, model national building, plumbing and fire codes are updated on a five-year cycle. The next energy code will be published in 2015, which will align with the publication of all other national model codes (building, fire and plumbing), thereby simplifying the adoption process for provinces and territories.
In preparation for the 2015 code, draft documents were posted on the National Research Council Canada's National Model Construction Code Documents web site for public consultation and commentary in the fall of 2013.
Public and private organizations may submit names of qualified experts in their regions to participate in the technical committees related to future code updates.
