Uranium Production
In 2005 and 2006, Canada retained its position as world leader in uranium production with output totaling 11 628 tU (tonnes of uranium metal) and 9862 tU, respectively. All current production and new projects awaiting development are located in the Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan. Uranium continues to rank among Canada’s top 10 metal commodities in terms of output value.
