Section 19(1) of the Nuclear Fuel Waste Act, requires that the Minister cause a copy of each report to be laid before each House of Parliament within the first fifteen sitting days of that House after the Minister has received the report. The Minister received a copy of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization's 2014-2016 triennial report on March 29, 2017, and tabled a copy of the report before both Houses of Parliament on May 4, 2017.

The Minister has received the Nuclear Waste Management Organization's Final Study: Choosing a Way Forward [READ MORE] on November 3, 2005. The Minister tabled a copy of the report before Parliament on November 4, 2005.

Sections 9(1) and 10(1) of the Nuclear Fuel Waste Act, require that the nuclear energy corporations and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) establish trust funds and deposit initial amounts within ten days of the Act coming into force. The nuclear energy corporations and AECL have advised Natural Resources Canada that this was carried out by November 25, 2002.
