RefWorks

What is RefWorks?

RefWorks is a web-based bibliographic management software (aka citation manager). It is comparable to well known products such as ProCite, EndNote or Reference Manager.

Refworks allows you to:

• Import references or citations from a wide variety of index & abstract databases (e.g. Scopus, Econlit, Biological Abstracts) and catalogues. You can also input your references manually.
• Organize your references into folders for different projects or papers.
• Easily add citations to your papers.
• Automatically generate a bibliography or reference list in over 200 output styles (e.g. Chicago, MLA, APA).
• Share your whole reference database or specific folders with NRCan colleagues.

RefWorks is freely available to all NRCan employees. However, the library has a limited number of accounts that we can create.

If you would like to create an account for yourself or your group or would like to have more information about RefWorks, please contact your library. Library staff will be more that happy to offer you training if required.
