Canada–Israel Energy Science and Technology Fund

Backgrounder

The Canada–Israel Energy Science and Technology Fund will support high-quality scientific research partnerships. These collaborations will spur the development of innovative energy technologies and processes to enable the responsible development of unconventional oil and gas resources, including applications to address environmental challenges. They will also consider initiatives on other critical energy sources of interest to both countries.

Natural Resources Canada intends to work with the Canada–Israel Industrial Research and Development Foundation (CIIRDF) to design the scope of the Canada–Israel Energy Science and Technology Fund. CIIRDF was established as a bi-national organization to promote collaborative research and development among private firms in Canada and Israel. The foundation has financed more than 90 bilateral technology partnerships, bringing together over 160 Canadian and Israeli companies.
