Minister Oliver Announces Appointments to the Board of Directors of Sustainable Development Technology Canada

OTTAWA — The Honourable Joe Oliver, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, today announced the appointment of Sarah Kavanagh and Ronald Koudys to the Board of Directors of Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC). Both Ms. Kavanagh and Mr. Koudys will hold office for one-year terms on a part-time basis.

“I am pleased to announce the appointments of Ms. Kavanagh and Mr. Koudys to the Board of Directors for Sustainable Development Technology Canada,” said Minister Oliver. “Their extensive experience in corporate finance and business will be assets as the organization continues to promote the development of innovative environmental technology solutions.”

Ms. Kavanagh has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of investment banking, corporate financial management and risk management. She is currently the Commissioner of the Ontario Securities Commission and a Director of the American Stock Transfer/Canadian Stock Transfer. Ms. Kavanagh is also serving as Chair of the Board of Governors of the Bishop Strachan School, one of Canada’s largest private girls schools. 

Mr. Koudys has over 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur and innovator in the fields of urban design, landscape architecture and resource management. He is President of Ron Koudys Landscape Architect Incorporated and President of Sight Plans Incorporated.

Sustainable Development Technology Canada is an arm’s-length foundation created by the Government of Canada in 2001 to support projects that develop and demonstrate new technologies to promote sustainable development.
