- The price of gold rose US$297 per troy ounce in 2010 to close at US$1410.25 on December 31.
- Canadian mine production of gold increased only marginally to 97.1 tonnes (t), valued at $3.92 billion, in spite of the high gold price throughout the year.
- Teck Resources Limited supplied 2.05 kilograms (kg) of gold recovered from recycled circuit boards for the gold medals awarded at the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
