    • Canada’s 2010 preliminary rough diamond production is estimated at $2.4 billion, for a production level of 11.8 million carats (Mct). This makes Canada the world’s third largest producer by value after Botswana and Russia.
    • On a value basis, Canada’s diamond production currently accounts for approximately 19.2% of world production, estimated in 2010 at 133.1 Mct valued at US$12.0 billion.
    • Diamond exploration expenditures across Canada recovered to $111.3 million in 2010, up 59% from 2009.
