Highlights
- In 2010, Canada was the world’s second largest uranium producer with output totaling 9775 tonnes of uranium metal (tU) representing 18.2% of world production.
- Domestic uranium exploration expenditures were $355 million in 2010, 5.1% below 2009 exploration expenditures of $374 million.
- As of January 1, 2011, Canada's total known uranium resources, recoverable at a cost of less than $150 per kilogram of uranium, were approximately 468 600 tU.
- During 2010, the uranium spot market price increased by 29%, closing the year at US$62.50 per pound of U3O8.
