Canadian trade in recyclable metal scrap

An article regarding “Recycled Metals” is published in the Canadian Minerals Yearbook on a periodic basis. International trade data for nonferrous and ferrous metal scrap are available from 1990 up to the present. The data include both tonnage and dollar trade values with a distinction provided between “waste and scrap” and “ash and residue”, where appropriate. Metal materials covered by the recycling summary include aluminum, copper, lead, zinc, nickel, magnesium, precious metals, stainless steel and ferrous. It is estimated that about 15 million tonnes of nonferrous and ferrous metal scrap are recycled in Canada each year.
