Consumer Fireworks (Class 7.2.1)

Consumer fireworks are low-hazard pyrotechnic articles designed for recreational use by the public. These articles include items such as Roman candles, sparklers, fountains, wheels, volcanoes, mines and snakes.

According to the Explosives Regulations, only authorized fireworks may be imported into, and transported, stored, sold and used in Canada. If tampered with or misused, fireworks can result in injury, property damage or even death. As a result, consumer fireworks retailers and users must understand the roles and responsibilities involved in ensuring the safe and secure use of consumer fireworks in Canada.

Follow the local and provincial/territorial laws regarding the purchase, possession and use of consumer fireworks. Some municipalities restrict the sale of consumer fireworks to certain times of the year while others prohibit the use or sale of some or even all consumer fireworks.
