Storing Pyrotechnics Special Effects

Less than 25kg gross of Pyrotechnics Special Effects (Class 7.2.5.) may be stored in a suitable secure and locked container in a sheltered location. The container must be conspicuously marked FIREWORKS.

More than 25kg but less than 125kg gross of Pyrotechnics Special Effects (Class 7.2.5.) may be stored in a warehouse, garage or similar building which must be detached from any dwelling and situated at a safe distance from public places and thoroughfares and kept lock. The storage unit must be:

• constructed in such a way that it protects the contents from weather;
• kept clean, dry, organized, and free of grit; and
• used exclusively for fireworks storage.

Storage quantities in excess of 125 kg or requires a Magazine Licence issued by ERD.
