Explosives Transportation Permits (Explosives Vehicle Certificates)

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is responsible for issuing Explosives Transportation Permits. Amendment No. 6 to the Transportation of Dangerous Good Regulations transferred that responsibility from Transport Canada to NRCan in 2008.

The permits no longer serve the function for which they were created, and NRCan intends to remove the requirement for them from the regulations. In the meantime, the Explosives Regulatory Division of NRCan is responsible for issuing them.
