CANMET-MTL Move to Hamilton Now Under Way!

The big move has finally begun! The first group of employees from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)’s CANMET Materials Technology Laboratory (CANMET-MTL) arrived at their temporary offices in Hamilton, Ontario on August 3, 2010. With the new facility expected to be completed by mid-November 2010, staff members have been working out of this temporary space graciously provided by McMaster Innovation Park. The first picture below shows the new facility under construction. Next to that is a picture of staff members on their first day.

Dr. Jennifer Jackman, Director General of CANMET-MTL, comments, “We are really excited to have people on the ground in Hamilton. It’s great to see everyone settling into a dynamic new environment, and we have noted a real shift in mentality as we begin to explore opportunities for collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders in the region.”
