The Standard CAN/CGSB 48.9712-2006 has three levels of certification in the Industrial Radiography (RT), Ultrasonics (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT) and Eddy Current (ET) testing methods. The placement of an "X" identifies the NDT method, sector and level of certification of the individual.
For the RT method,
EC = Engineering, Materials and Components Sector
AS = Aerospace Sector
A = Light Alloy Castings and Forgings
B = Welds and Weldments
C = Heavy Metal Castings and Forgings
Note: Certification in the A, B, and C sectors is equivalent to certification in the Engineering, Materials and Components Sector.
For the UT, MT, PT and ET methods, all certification is in the Engineering, Materials and Components Sector.
