Application Information

These instructions were developed to assist individuals who wish to gain initial certification in non-destructive testing (NDT) according to the CAN/CGSB 48.9712-2006 Standard.

Presently, certifications are offered in one or more of the following methods, sectors and levels.

Industrial Radiography (RT):
Engineering, Materials and Components (EMC) Sector: Levels 1, 2 or 3
Aerospace (A/S) Sector: Levels 2 or 3

Ultrasonics (UT):
Engineering, Materials and Components (EMC) Sector: Levels 1, 2 or 3

Magnetic Particle (MT):
Engineering, Materials and Components (EMC) Sector: Levels 2 or 3

Liquid Penetrant (PT):
Engineering, Materials and Components (EMC) Sector: Levels 2 or 3

Eddy Current (ET):
Engineering, Materials and Components (EMC) Sector: Levels 1, 2 or 3

X-Ray Fluorescence Operator (XRF):
Levels 1 or 2

Notes:
Another term to designate the "EMC" is Multi-Sector.
Level 3 is the most senior.
