How to Calculate Experience Credits
Situation 1:
An NDT candidate is applying for Level 2 Industrial Radiography (RT) examination eligibility, which requires 12 months' experience, working 100% of the time in RT inspection.
Period of Employment
Acquired NDT Experience
Percentage of time
Calculation
- 01/10/91 - 30/09/95
- 48 months
- Industrial Radiography 25%
· 48 months x 25% RT = 12 months experience
This NDT candidate satisfies the experience time requirements for Level 2 Industrial Radiography.
Situation 2:
The same NDT candidate in situation 1, as above, is also applying for examination in Level 2 Ultrasonics (UT). Level 2 Ultrasonics requires 12 months at 100% of the time in UT inspection.
Period of Employment
Acquired NDT Experience
Percentage of time Calculation
- 01/10/91 - 30/09/95
- 48 months
- Ultrasonics 20%
· 12 months experience required
· 48 months x 20% UT = 9.6
months experience gained
This NDT candidate would not satisfy the experience time requirements for Level 2 Ultrasonics as the experience time requirements of 12 months would not be met. However, the candidate could challenge the examinations by indicating on the application that he/she is applying without the qualifying work experience.
Note: The personal information presented on the application form is strictly confidential. No information about the NDT candidate will be relayed to any other person or organization without the consent of the NDT candidate.
