Figure 1 is a pie chart that shows the leading countries with Canadian mining assets abroad. Almost half of Canada's mining assets abroad are in four countries of the Western Hemisphere: Mexico (13%), Chile (13%), the United States (12%), and Argentina (8%). The other leading countries are Zambia, Mongolia, the Dominican Republic, Mauritania, Brazil, and South Africa, each with a share ranging from 3% to 4%.
