Metal Recovery

The Metal Recovery Group of the WS program develops innovative techniques to extract and recover key elements from radioactive and hazardous wastes in order to reduce their volume, radioactivity level and associated waste management costs. Recycling the recovered elements is the preferred option in most cases. The metal recovery techniques are largely derived from our in-house expertise on extractive metallurgy.
