Contacting the NDT Certification Body

COVID temporary accommodations and extensions

In April 2020, The NRCan NDTCB implemented temporary accommodations and extensions relating to initial certifications and renewals/recertifications for select candidates and expiry dates. Some of these extensions have already expired, with all extensions for renewal and recertification expiring by December 2024. It is the responsibility of certification candidates and certificate holders to keep track of all expiry dates and due dates and manage their applications and certifications accordingly. Please visit our NDT Certification Body COVID Program Updates page for more information.

Please note: We try to respond to all communication within 48 hours. If you do not receive a response within this time, please contact us.

The NRCan NDTCB uses email as the main method of correspondence with its clients. The NRCan NDTCB is also sending out all examination results via email in order to improve our client services and reduce wait times for certification candidates. If you are waiting to hear about the status of an application or your examination results, please check your email (including your junk/spam folder) prior to submitting your enquiry. Clients are responsible to update the NDTCB when they change their contact information. If you have changed your email address within the last few years, please ensure the NDTCB has your most up-to-date email address on file.

Document Replacement and other Administrative Services

Existing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) Analyzer Operator, and Exposure Device Operator (EDO) clients can update their name, demographic and contact information and request replacement documentation and/or additional administrative actions using the NRCan NDTCB Administrative Services Request Form (PDF, 1.50 Mb).

Client Responsibilities

Certified personnel and applicants are expected to respond to NRCan NDTCB communication in a timely manner, and inform the NRCan NDTCB of any changes to their name and address/contact information.

Clients are responsible for the official documentation issued to them by the NRCan NDTCB. Fees will apply for the replacement of these documents.

Lost or stolen NRCan NDTCB photo identification (ID) cards must be reported to local law enforcement. The NRCan NDTCB requires a copy of the report, in addition to the “NRCan NDTCB Administrative Services Request Form” and applicable fees prior to issuing a replacement ID card.

The NRCan NDTCB has sole ownership of all paper declarations of achievement and photo identification (ID) cards as issued. This property is subject to update or recall at any time. Clients and certificate holders cannot possess duplicate photo ID cards and/or multiple photo ID cards for the same certification (i.e. NDT, XRF, EDO). Only the most recent ID card issued from the NRCan NDTCB is considered valid. It is the responsibility of the clients and certificate holders to ensure that all previously issued cards are destroyed or returned to the NRCan NDTCB.

Complaints, appeals and reporting NRCan NDTCB Code of Conduct Violations

If you have a disagreement or dispute about an assessment, determination or decision you received from the NDTCB, you may provide feedback to us or appeal for review at any time. We understand that in some cases, these disputes may be caused by miscommunication or lack of information and encourage you to contact us for more information.

If you have contacted the NDTCB and are still unsatisfied with the response, you may file a formal complaint or appeal by completing and submitting the Form for Complaints and Appeals. (PDF, 578.18 kb). We recommend that you also submit any relevant documents and materials with the completed form to the NDTCB. Verbal complaints or appeals are not accepted.

You may also report a perceived NRCan NDTCB Code of Conduct violation using the same form. Please include all pertinent information such as the name of the individual(s), times/dates of the violation, and any documentary evidence to support your claim.

We aim to acknowledge all written complaints, appeals or reports of code of conduct violations within 10 days of receipt and will review all relevant submitted material and decide upon the appropriate action. We will complete any required action in a timely manner.

Please note that submission provision, fact finding and any consequent decision taken by the NDTCB will not result in any discriminatory actions against the complainant/appellant, however, providing false or misleading information or misrepresentation may be perceived and addressed as a violation of the NRCan NDTCB Code of Conduct.
