Program Activity 3.1

Protection for Canadians and Natural Resources

Description

Natural resource development and military activities, and changes in the environment pose risks to human, natural resource and infrastructure health. Without the appropriate coordination for and knowledge on the management of these risks, the impacts would be severe. The objective of this program activity is to enable other government departments, communities and the private sector to manage these risks to human, natural resource and infrastructure health. This objective is achieved by providing regulation and knowledge, fulfilling legislated responsibilities, and ensuring capacity.
