Consuming CLSS Web Services

The Surveyor General Branch provides web services for users to access current and reliable legal land information. All services are also available in the Open maps community of the Government of Canada’s Open Data site. Open maps provides access to the Government of Canada’s geospatial information. You can combine, visualize, and analyze geospatial data and collaborate with other Canadians. Alternatively, you can add the web map services in your GIS by using the links provided below.

These services can be accessed at no cost and without restrictions according to the terms of the license at Open Government Licence - Canada (http://open.canada.ca/en/open-government-licence-canada).

Administrative Boundaries

Overview

The Canada Lands Survey System (CLSS) Administrative Boundaries web mapping services provide national coverage of Aboriginal Lands, National Parks of Canada and National Park Reserves of Canada legislative boundaries. These services are available in ESRI REST and WMS formats using the Canada Atlas Lambert projection (EPSG:3979) by default.
