Energy Efficiency Regulations

Regulatory definition

Miscellaneous refrigeration product, a household refrigeration product, which includes a cooler and combination cooler refrigeration product, but does not include a refrigerator, refrigerator-freezer or freezer.

Cooler

Means a cabinet, used with one or more doors, that has a source of refrigeration capable of operating on single-phase, alternating current and is capable of maintaining compartment temperatures either:

  1. No lower than 39 °F (3.9 °C); or
  2. In a range that extends no lower than 37 °F (2.8 °C) but at least as high as 60 °F (15.6 °C) as determined according to the applicable provisions in 10 C.F.R. § 429.61(d)(2).

Combination cooler refrigeration product

Means any cooler-refrigerator, cooler-refrigerator-freezer, or cooler-freezer.

  • name of product
  • brand name
  • model number
  • manufacturer
  • the name of the certification body or province whose verification mark will be on the product or its package
  • whether a mathematical model as defined in the Regulations was used to generate any of the information provided below
  • type
  • adjusted volume
  • annual energy consumption in kilowatt-hours
