Once you have completed your retrofits, you are ready to book your post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation and apply for the grant.
Only retrofit work done after December 1, 2020 that includes both the pre- and post-retrofit EnerGuide evaluation can qualify for a grant. Evaluations completed prior to December 1st, 2020 are not eligible for a grant.
You will be required to undertake at least one retrofit that is both eligible and recommended by your energy advisor in their report to receive a grant.

Tip #2 - Limit your file sizes: If you are submitting multiple or large attachments (over 5 MB), we strongly recommended that you zip your documents into a single folder or submit the documents in a series of emails to avoid processing issues. If doing so, add “Email 1 of 4“ in the subject line of the email.

If the email did end up in one of these folders, add the email to your trusted senders folder or mark the email as “not junk“. This way, our future emails will go directly to your inbox.
Costs of your home evaluations
The prices vary across Canada and are dependent on factors like the location and size of a home. The maximum total grant amount is $600 for the two evaluations. Homeowners will pay up-front for their EnerGuide evaluations.
In some cases, the maximum amount for the two evaluations may not cover the full cost of the evaluations. You will not receive the grant for the pre-retrofit evaluation unless you continue through the full Greener Homes Grant process.
