Natural Resources Canada is pleased to announce that our National High-Performance Building Challenge initiative is now supporting BOMA Canada’s new award program, the Net Zero Challenge, officially launched at its September 2017 BOMEX conference. This new addition to BOMA Canada’s suite of annual building awards will recognize the leadership of owners, developers, designers and managers of buildings that demonstrate significant progress along the path towards net‐zero energy. Awards will be presented in three categories: Best In Class/Net Zero Award, Most Improved Buildings and an Innovation Award.
“These awards are about celebrating thought-leadership and innovation within Canada,” says Benjamin Shinewald, President and CEO at BOMA Canada. “It’s about giving a platform to people and organizations that are building a low-carbon future as a way to propel sustainability within the industry.”
BOMA Canada will be accepting its first applicants in April 2018. NRCan is proud to financially support this important initiative and encourages interested organizations to contact BOMA Canada directly via its website http://bomacanada.ca/awards/netzeroawards/ for more information, including application details.
