The First Canadian Smart Micro-grid in a Remote Community: Hartley Bay, BC

A Smart Micro-grid project was successfully demonstration in Hartley Bay, British Columbia. The community was able to reduce its diesel fuel consumption through the implementation of the Pulse energy management system and the optimal control of the diesel power plant. The peak load was achieved using a range of smart devices including wireless thermostats, controls on hot water heaters and ventilation systems in commercial buildings.
