To use Display Fireworks or Pyrotechnic Special Effects you must be certified by Natural Resources Canada.
The first step to certification is successfully completing the Display Fireworks Safety and Legal Awareness Course or the Pyrotechnics Safety and Legal Awareness Course. These courses are offered in various locations across Canada by the Explosives Regulatory Division (ERD) or “certified” course providers. After completing the required courses, you can apply for a Fireworks Operator Certificate from ERD.
