By dramatically increasing the productivity of natural resources through fundamental changes in both production design and operation, industry can reduce the waste of energy, water, materials and other resources, and create more value through its production system and other operations. This represents a major business opportunity for the Canadian industry which, in turn, comes with the need of thoroughly understanding the impact of these changes on the overall company operations.
CanmetENERGY’s value proposition is to provide Canadian energy-intensive industrial sectors with Whole-System Design tools and knowledge to improve their global efficiency, increase their competitiveness and reduce their environmental footprint. This is accomplished through both R&D and outreach, including training and capacity-building.
CanmetENERGY’s Industrial Systems Optimization Program develops, manages, and implements a robust portfolio that addresses industrial requirements throughout the technology development cycle. It is based on high-return R&D projects, validation and verification of technological benefits, dissemination of energy efficiency technologies and practices, as well as capacity-building efforts.
