OTTAWA — The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Minister of Natural Resources, today announced the appointment of a temporary member, Mr. Hans Matthews, to the National Energy Board (NEB).

Mr. Matthews is a professional geologist with more than 25 years of experience. He has been the President of the Canadian Aboriginal Minerals Association since 1992. Mr. Matthews has also held executive positions focused on natural resource and environmental management, economic development and strategic policy and planning. He is a member of the Wahnapitae First Nation, Ontario, where he resides.

“I am very pleased to confirm the appointment of Mr. Matthews to the NEB,” said Minister Raitt. “He brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in resource management and in working with aboriginal communities.”
