Novel Rotor Design for Ablative Centrifuge Pyrolysis Reactor

This opportunity has now closed and is no longer accepting expressions of interest.

The Business Opportunity

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is seeking expressions of interest from Canadian firms who wish to enter into a commercial licensing arrangement to bring to market our “Novel Rotor Design for Ablative Centrifuge Pyrolysis Reactor” technology. This license would enable the firm to manufacture and sell this technology, including all aspects of design, manufacture, construction, commissioning, service, maintenance, support, marketing and sales. The ideal licensee would be an engineering firm with expertise in fuel, hydrogen and chemical production from agriculture, forestry, and community waste including non-recyclable plastics.

Brief Technology Description

NRCan has developed and filed a patent for a reactor and method for centrifuge pyrolysis of a feedstock. The reactor is configured to provide centrifugal force and axial propagation to any solid organic feedstock for ablative pyrolysis. The method involves continuous heat transfer from the inner wall of the reactor by a state of art rotor and collecting the pyrolysis product. This technology will make a centrifuge ablative pyrolysis unit simpler, modular and more flexible to handle feedstock with a wide size distribution.
