|Description||This new program will support the deployment of renewable electricity technologies, which have been established successfully abroad and will support renewable electricity technologies, which have been demonstrated successfully in Canada but have not yet been deployed commercially. This program will help de-risk upfront capital investments in emerging renewable power projects. The Emerging Renewable Power Program has repayable contributions.|
|Expected results||For the 2018-2019 to 2020-2021 period:
Result #1: Two contribution agreements signed and two regional assessments completed and released publicly.
Result #2: Projects using at least two different technologies (one technology per project) are supported by program.
Result #3: Two provincially-led support mechanisms (e.g. regulatory frameworks, power purchase agreements)

|Initiatives to engage applicants and recipients||The Department has contacted industry organizations, spoken to individual developers upon request, and has attended industry events. The Department has contacted provincial government representatives, both at the working and management level.|
